If you wear open-toed shoes in summer, your feet have to be super neat. Anything else is unpleasant for the onlooker!

Unfortunately, we see it all the time: open shoes and unkempt feet - that doesn't have to be the case! Feet that are soft to the touch and well-groomed toenails really are a must now. If you still have some catching up to do, we have a few quick tips for beautiful feet in summer:

Soak your feet

Add a little bath salt or a bubble ball to warm water and soak your feet in it. A dash of olive oil or milk will also do the trick - this makes the feet nice and soft and the calluses easier to remove. Soak for 20 to 30 minutes if the calluses are very thick.

Beautiful feet in summer: removing calluses

Take your feet out of the bath and carefully pluck them off. Remove dead skin flakes with a scrub - ideally once a week. For thicker calluses, it is best to use special files. It is important not to remove too much callus as this will cause it to grow back. Some callus is also good because it is a natural protection for the feet. It is therefore primarily about the thickened, unsightly calluses on the heels and balls of the feet.

Shape your toenails

First push back the still soft cuticles with a rosewood stick. Then trim the nails with a clipper and round off the corners with a file. Then apply cream to the feet. Leave out the toenails, as they are still to be painted. They must be free of grease.

Toe separators are the easiest and cleanest way to do this. Always use a base coat first to prevent the nails from staining. Then apply two coats of the desired nail polish and finish with a top coat. This way, the color will last longer. Important: The individual coats must be dry before the next coat is applied.
