Beware of these beauty apps!

As useful and helpful as apps are for our lives, they can also be dangerous. Beauty apps such as "Princess Plastic Surgery" and "Plastic Surgery Simulator" give even the youngest children a completely false image of reality and beauty...

Beauty apps harbor some dangers for your children...

This is no longer a fun game. Parents are currently going on the barricades and there is a real shitstorm on the internet. And rightly so. The beauty apps "Princess Plastic Surgery" and "Plastic Surgery Simulator", which children are allowed to download, are simply horrible. These "doctor games" give children a completely false image of beauty.

That's what the apps are all about

The cartoon character can be seriously edited at will, the children virtually "play" the plastic surgeon. The figure can be shaped, the lips injected, Botox injected - and the cute princess sheds a few tears due to the pain.

What they can do

The willingness to achieve a desired body image through styling, dieting or cosmetic surgery is increasing. The apps massively trivialize surgical procedures. They also convey a body image that is supposed to be perfect or beautiful.

You should pay attention to this

If children and adolescents suddenly start criticizing their figure or appearance, caution is advised. It is also an indication of a distorted body image if the girls have new idols who, for example, advertise a skinny body craze. Parents should take a close look at their children's new role models.

What else you can do

If a girl complains about her figure or appearance, this is a real problem for her. This should not simply be dismissed, but taken seriously. Parents should talk to their children. Where does the desire for change come from? You should also explain to them that surgery is definitely not the right way to go. Girls need a healthy body image. A good way to achieve this is to strengthen their own abilities, whether creative, athletic or otherwise.
