Chafed thighs? What helps and how to prevent it

Even women with thicker or tight thighs want to enjoy the summer and wear nice dresses or shorts. The problem is that when the legs rub together and the insides of the thighs become sore, it is very painful. Many women therefore avoid wearing dresses in the warm season and prefer to wear long pants. That doesn't have to be the case! Here are some tips on how to avoid chafed thighs and what you can do in an emergency.

Underwear against sore thighs

Long pants are the ultimate protection against chafing on the inner thighs. These are comfortable underwear made of a light fabric that can also be worn under dresses in summer. Of course, they should not be too short or transparent.

Cosmetic products against chafed thighs

If your light summer dress or shorts don't allow you to wear long pants, you can use the following products to help:

Vaseline is an old household remedy and a jack of all trades. Simply apply it to the inside of the thighs. The lubricating effect prevents them from rubbing against each other and avoids painful areas. Athletes also use Vaseline. Apply again if necessary.

Baby powder and deodorant can also be used - both absorb sweat and thus prevent unpleasant friction. However, both products must be applied repeatedly, baby powder has the disadvantage that it can stain dark clothing.

What should you do if your thighs are already chafed?

Then the only thing to do is to go to the doctor or pharmacy. You will definitely need an ointment or powder to combat inflammation and promote wound healing. Products with a cooling effect are particularly good. Wound dressings are advisable for severe skin defects.
