They help us to cope perfectly with everyday life. Nevertheless, our hands are often neglected in our daily skin care routine! Yet they need special attention and affection, especially in fall and winter - these hand care tips will help.
Even out the complexion - with cosmetics and lasers
The stain has to go: hardly any other part of the body comes into contact with sunlight as often as our hands! Even in the cold season, the radiation is strong enough to stress the skin. It therefore produces melanin to protect them - they turn brown. However, if too much melanin is produced, pigmentation spots develop. A hand cream with a sun protection factor prevents these age spots. If they are already visible, they can be lightened with a corrective stick containing vitamin C. However, it must be used permanently to maintain the effect. In the long term, spots can be removed with a laser procedure by a dermatologist. This requires 3-4 sessions, which can cost up to 1,000 euros.
Hand care tip 1: Gentle scrubbing
Our hands are now exposed to the cold and dry heating air again. This quickly makes them rough, dry and brittle. To make your skin soft and supple again, it is best to exfoliate your hands once a week. Use one with natural abrasive particles such as sugar or sea salt. These products do not contain any environmentally harmful microplastic particles that cannot be broken down. The scrub should also be enriched with vitamins and valuable, moisturizing oils. Rub into damp hands and rinse off. Use every two weeks. The granules have an exfoliating effect, dead skin cells are removed and blood circulation is stimulated. The result: soft, rosy, fresh skin, which can better absorb the subsequent care ingredients as they can penetrate more deeply.
Rich hand care - not just in winter

Firm & pamper - with a hand mask
One of the most effective hand care tips is the intensive treatment for in-between: In addition to daily care with hand cream (preferably also after every hand wash), the skin needs an extra boost of moisture once a week. A hand mask with hyaluronic acid repairs and smoothes the skin overnight. Apply before going to bed, then put on fine wool gloves. When you get up, your fingers will be soft and the skin on the back of your hands a little firmer. Special mask gloves are already enriched with nourishing substances. These disposable gloves (e.g. with avocado oil etc.) can work more effectively due to the warming accumulation effect. Depending on the product, leave on for around ten minutes, which can also be done while relaxing on the sofa.
Proper cuticle care
Once the cuticles have softened, they can be gently pushed back with a rosewood or plastic horse foot stick. The number one rule here is: never cut. This is because the sensitive cuticle protects the nail bed from intruders such as germs and bacteria. The smallest injuries or tears can allow these to pass through, which can lead to unpleasant, painful inflammation. If you have thick cuticles, you can also treat them with a softening cuticle remover cream. Leave this on briefly, then gently push everything back.
Optimal manicure
They are simply part of a well-groomed appearance. But that doesn't mean they have to be painted. But all ten fingernails should be the same length and shape. Use a gentle, nail plate-sealing glass or mineral file - metal files tear up the nails. Popular: almond shape or "squoval" (straight front, round corners). A polishing file creates an attractive shine without the need for polish. Finally, apply some nourishing, vitamin-rich nail oil to the nail bed to nourish it.

Strengthen your nails
Do your nails just not want to grow (any more ) and unfortunately break all the time? This could be because they are not being optimally supplied with nutrients. Nails especially need substances such as biotin, silicon, zinc or silicic acid for healthy growth. In this case, capsules from drugstores, such as Tetesept, Luvos or Abtei, can help to balance this out. Nail serums with vitamins and moisturizing hyaluronic acid or special care polishes from the pharmacy (e.g. "Sililevo") also strengthen the nails and promote growth. Important: You need to be patient, none of these treatments work overnight and the first results usually only become apparent after a month at the earliest. Therefore, it is essential to keep at it.
