Matte nail polish: The best trick for matte fingernails

Matte nails are all the rage at the moment - and we'll tell you how to achieve this great effect with your normal nail polish.

You can use any nail polish for the trendy matte look, even one with gloss particles.

Matte nail polish: how easy it is to get matte fingernails

The great thing is that you can easily achieve this trendy look at home and don't need a nail salon. For cool, matte fingernails, you only need things that you already have in your cosmetics cabinet:

1. base coat
2. normal nail polish / gloss polish (also nail polish with gloss particles)
3. baking powder
4. 2 brushes, for example make-up brushes

Now we've told you what utensils you need for the matte effect - let's move straight on to the instructions:

  • Paint your fingernails as usual, i.e. use the base coat first and then the gloss polish.
  • For each fingernail: Moisten the brush with baking powder and go over the still MOIST nails with it. Work quickly and evenly.
  • Leave the baking soda to work in and wipe off any excess with a clean brush.

Tip: You can also use corn flour and baby or body powder instead of baking powder. The matt effect also works with potato starch.
