Why you shouldn't blow-dry your hair in the bathroom

Many women blow-dry their hair directly in the bathroom after washing it. However, we should avoid doing this if we want our hair to dry faster. This is because the humidity in the bathroom is much higher than in other rooms - especially after showering or bathing. The humidity encourages frizzy hair. It also makes hair dry much more slowly when blow-drying. It is therefore better to move the hairdryer into the hallway or bedroom.

Tip: Always pre-dry your hair

If possible, it is best to let your hair air dry a little before blow-drying. If you wash your hair in the morning: Dab your hair with a towel after showering (important: always dab, never rub, this damages the hair structure) and have breakfast first. This way you won't lose any time. After breakfast, you can blow-dry your hair as usual. As they are already a little pre-dried, they will dry faster. Another good side effect is that we don't have to blow-dry our hair for as long, which is gentler on it.

Don't blow-dry too hot

Very important: don't blow-dry on the highest setting. This does our hair no favors, as it can become brittle and straw-like. It's better to let your hair dry a little and then blow-dry it at medium heat. Although this takes a little longer, it is gentle on our mane. We should also always apply heat protection before blow-drying. It also makes sense to invest in a good hairdryer with several attachments and the option to regulate the temperature. Here you can find a model from Philips for around 33 euros, which has been rated 4.5 stars on Amazon!
