Yoga clothing should always be comfortable and not pinch anywhere. The pants can either be cut a little wider or you can opt for leggings. In both cases, freedom of movement is the key element. Leggings are often best when they are cut slightly higher on the stomach. This prevents the leggings from slipping down to the level of your thighs in positions such as downward facing dog. With wider pants, on the other hand, it is important to pay attention to the material. Wide cotton pants may feel like they have a lot of flexibility at first, but the big lunges, such as the warrior pose, have already caused a few tears in the crotch. It is therefore particularly important that you pay attention to the material of the pants and test them in the changing room for the most unusual poses you can think of.

Matching tops

The choice of top is just as important for a successful and enjoyable yoga experience as the choice of pants. When it comes to tops, women should first consider a sports bra. The choice can be a little difficult and it often takes a while to find the perfect sports bra. But the search is worthwhile and you simply have to try out a few models. The T-shirt over the bra is often more comfortable to wear if it is slightly wider and slightly longer. Many yoga poses involve stretching your arms in the air. Many people cannot enjoy or relax in this pose if they know that their entire stomach is exposed. An undershirt that you pull under your other T-shirt and tuck into your trousers can be helpful here. This way, your pants won't slip down so easily and you can stretch your arms in the air without almost showing your bra. All the important tips at a glance

All items of clothing should be made from a breathable material, as yoga often moves a little faster and you can work up a sweat. There are different materials, such as cotton, synthetics or linen. It is best to choose materials that you also feel comfortable in during other sports or at home. At the same time, you should not forget that quiet meditation phases are often part of a yoga session. For this, it is important not to choose the shortest pants and the skimpiest top, as there is a risk that you will get chilly during a longer resting phase, especially in winter. The type of yoga you want to practise often provides information about the perfect outfit. Ashtanga yoga, for example, is more dynamic and somewhat faster, while hatha yoga also focuses on many meditation sessions. Bikram yoga, on the other hand, takes place at almost 40 degrees and aims to make you work up a good sweat. Short and particularly breathable clothing is therefore the order of the day here.
