Care for your hair: Keep your hair looking beautiful with these tips!

Hair and the right hairstyle make a huge difference, they provide the necessary self-confidence. Whether a bob, lion's mane or short haircut - every head of hair needs to be cared for. However, while too much care can quickly lead to greasy hair, neglected hair can cause a number of problems. Split ends, dry hair ends and knots can really affect styling. It is therefore important to follow a few care tips.

Keep your hair really beautiful with these tips

If your hair is greasy, it's time to wash it. However, hair should not be washed too often. This is because frequent shampooing dries out both the hair and the scalp. As a result, the scalp tries to restore the moisture balance and produces more sebum. This in turn results in hair that greases more quickly. It is advisable to only wash your hair two to three times a week.

To protect the hair, it is advisable to delay shampooing. The best way to do this is to gradually increase the frequency of washing. Try not to wash your hair every day, but every two days at first. Dry shampoo can help to keep your hair looking beautiful and not greasy. Apply the product evenly between the individual strands and work it in carefully with your fingertips. Then comb through the hair and style as usual.

Tip: Extensions also need to be washed regularly. It doesn't matter whether clip-in extensions, flip-in extensions or adhesive wefts are used. However, only wash them when necessary and always with a mild shampoo. This makes it possible to try out different extension methods and maintain your new mane for a long time.

Choose the right shampoo

Of course, it is also important to always use the right shampoo. There is a huge selection on the market. However, not all shampoos, conditioners or treatments are suitable for your own hair. It is important to pay attention to the ingredients and product type. A mild shampoo is suitable for normal hair. Volume shampoos, on the other hand, are suitable for straight, thin hair, while shampoos with color particles help colored hair to shine. Each shampoo cleanses the hair and scalp, but ideally does not contain silicones or parabens. A hazelnut-sized portion is usually enough to work the product into the scalp.

Extra tip: It is not always necessary to shampoo the entire hair. The shampoo should first be applied to the scalp and then rinsed out with plenty of water. When rinsing, the foam reaches the entire hair right to the ends and reliably removes dirt and styling residue.

Choose the water temperature carefully

However, it is important not to rinse the hair too hot after shampooing. This not only stresses the scalp, but also the hair cuticle. It is better to use lukewarm or cold water. It closes the cuticle layer every time you wash your hair and gives it a beautiful shine. At the same time, the hair is not stressed, but looks well-groomed and is easier to comb.

Pat hair dry after washing, don't rub it

After shampooing, a towel is of course used to dry the hair. However, many people vigorously rub their hair dry with the towel. This is a fatal mistake - and not just for hairstyles with extensions. Hair is extremely sensitive when wet and can be prone to breakage and split ends. It is therefore better to gently wrap the hair with a towel and pat dry if necessary. Once the hair is towel-dried, it can be styled. Always use a good heat protectant before styling. This will keep your hair and extensions looking beautiful and well-groomed.
