1 Wash your hair properly
You can do a lot to prevent frizz even when washing your hair in the shower at home. Namely, use the right shampoo. Formulations that tend to roughen the hair structure, such as volumizing products or special cleansing or peeling shampoos, should be avoided if possible.
2 Use a fluid
Have you ever tried smoothing serums? These formulations lock in moisture and seal the hair cuticle. They are usually applied to damp or even soaking wet hair in the shower (e.g. "Frizz Ease Original 6 Effects Serum" by John Frieda) - this prevents frizz from forming in the first place. Great!
3 Optimize volume
Do you like voluminous hairstyles? Wonderful! Then you can work perfectly with frizz-prone hair. Simply apply a little texture or salt water spray to the top of your head before blow-drying and then leave to dry. Even trendy, extra messy braided hairstyles work really well with hair textured in this way. And now it's Oktoberfest time again.
4 Straighten permanently with a professional
If you have particularly stubborn hair that is difficult to style, get professional help. Hairdressers now offer straightening keratin treatments that tame the hair for around six months while retaining its natural volume. Brands such as Goldwell or Aveda offer this service (approx. 80 euros).
5 Be clever
You can also trick frizz and moisture from outside by using a moisturizing shampoo so that your mane doesn't have to draw moisture from the air in the first place. This hydrates the hair fibre from the inside. Suitable conditioners, intensive treatments or leave-in products round off the effective anti-frizz care program perfectly. Nothing can go wrong.
6 Tricks with conditioner
You always use a conditioner and once a week you also use an intensive treatment in the form of a mask, bravo. Then you are already doing a lot right in the fight against frizz, because care helps a lot. Just leave a little bit of product residue in the lengths and ends to effectively prevent wild frizz.
7 Spray on a protective shield
You've just finished styling your hair when a glance out of the window tells you that it's raining. Oh dear, the worst frizz weather. Good news: You can prevent your hair from frizzing again with an anti-humidity spray, available from KMS, John Frieda or Oribé, for example - this protects your hair from humidity.
8 Be creative in an emergency
If you do get caught in a downpour, make the best of it. Moisturize your hair with a little hair oil (hand cream will also do in a pinch). Or work with hair gel - gel hairstyles are currently back in fashion on the international catwalks. Become your own hairdresser, be creative.
