The life of police student Julia Gerloff (Emma Bading) spirals out of control when she falls in love with the mysterious Nick Limbach (Jannik Schümann).
Nick is not who he claims to be. He was deliberately set on the police student by an ominous stranger, Florian Keppler (Devid Striesow).
After their first night of love, Julia discovers a huge swastika on Nick's back ...
Julia is doing her training in Cologne. She has found a friend and advisor in Lydia (Lorna Ishema), and her instructor, the fatherly and strict chief inspector Berthold Roosen (Rainer Bock), always keeps an eye on her. She is the chick of the troop, uninhibited and curious. In addition to the strenuous lessons, she is constantly on duty for her paraplegic father Wolfgang (Karsten Antonio Mielke). Julia's mother died shortly after giving birth.
When Julia falls in love with Nick, she has no idea that he is pursuing a dark plan with Keppler concerning her. It revolves around a group of formerly homeless young people who have taken possession of an abandoned sawmill at the ruins of the Westwall in the forests of the Eifel. They are led by Ira (Jeanette Hain), who swears the kids to take "bloody revenge" on the system that has simply spat them out. Ira practises shooting with the kids, while her right-hand man Karl (David Schütter) builds bombs in an abandoned bunker.
The complete mini-series consists of six parts and is also available for binge-watching in the ZDFmediathek.
