Funkuhr TV tip for the weekend

Spurlos in Marseille on 19.9. at 20.15 on Das Erste:
Family man Bruno Bassmann (Fabian Busch), a boat builder by trade and now a househusband, is looking forward to a romantic weekend on the Côte d'Azur.
Together with his wife Katja, a highly paid IT expert at a Frankfurt bank, he travels to the south of France. Grandma is looking after their two children.

When the couple make a short stopover after landing in Marseille, the trip suddenly turns into a nightmare: Katja, who has arranged to meet an old school friend in a bistro, disappears without a trace. Bruno has no doubt that she has been abducted. But neither the police nor the embassy can help the desperate vacationer.
Only the German-speaking cab driver Aliya (Sabrina Amali) supports him in his search.

When the two of them actually locate Katja's acquaintance, they are in for a terrible surprise: the journalist has been murdered in his apartment! To save Katja, Bruno has to find out what the unscrupulous kidnappers are up to. A trail leads to the underworld of Marseille. While Aliya suspects how dangerous it will be for her, Bruno is not afraid to take risks. What he doesn't realize is that his family back home is not safe either.

The highly suspenseful plot based on Gernot Krää's screenplay comes to a head with the puzzling question of what the kidnapping is about and who has a hand in it. Cinematographer Max Knauer brilliantly captured the original locations in the southern French port city.

This film is also available in the ARD Mediathek for 30 days after the broadcast.
