With Boris Becker, the presenter duo Annett Möller (40) and Daniel Boschmann (37) were able to engage a top-class guest for their first live show. Boris appeared dressed as usual in a dark suit and gray sports shirt - a perfect combination of smart and casual.
"There have indeed been better times"
As an introduction, Boris sent his regards to Lilly and son Amadeus and emphasized that not "everything you read should be taken at face value." But he also said: "There have indeed been better times"
Boris on his separation from Lilly in May 2018
"I've tried to keep my private life out of the public eye as much as possible over the past ten years. When you fall in love and get married, you naturally intend to be that way for the rest of your life. It didn't work out. Unfortunately, I'm not alone in this game called marriage. It's always a shame, it hurts, it's unpleasant. Especially when you have a young son. But we are two sensible people and will find a good solution."
... and son Amadeus
"I'm almost a pioneer of the patchwork family with my ex-wife Barbara, we managed it well when we both stick together and both realize that it's about the child's well-being. That's also the case here. We both have Amadeus, and a solution has to be found."
He also spoke about the strange police operation at the Wimbledon villa
"As you all know, I have a very temperamental wife and she can get noisy. It all happened when I was commentating live on Roger Federer against Kevin Anderson at Wimbledon. My son Elias was in the house and called me and said 'Dad, come home' and I said 'I can't right now, I'm watching live! Then things calmed down again and I hope that we'll find an end to it soon."
And what is the relationship with Lilly like now?
Boris denied that they were only talking about lawyers. But: "Of course we've hired lawyers - you have to do that these days to protect your rights. But we don't communicate every day quite as lovingly as we used to."
A topic that interests everyone: Money
"Of course, divorce is about money. But, as with my other children, I will also take good care of my son Amadeus. And my wife will certainly get off lightly too. But everything has to be fair, and I can only pay what I have ... I already have a few marks or euros or pounds, but perhaps not quite as much as ten years ago."
Of course, Boris couldn't say anything about the insolvency proceedings because they are still ongoing.
