Dance movie conquers the stage

Flashdance" became a cult dance film in the 80s, and now the story is set to conquer the stage as a musical at Hamburg's Mehr! theater. Salzburg, Düsseldorf and Bremen can then look forward to the musical - further cities are being planned.

New challenge for Gitte Haenning

While she sang about her dream man on horseback in the 60s, Gitte Haenning takes on the role of "Hannah" in the Hamburg performance of "Flashdance - the Musical". She embodies the mentor of the main character "Alex Owens". "Hannah" is a born dancer and although she is already over 70 years old, she has never lost her passion for dancing. She met "Alex" at the age of nine at a school performance, where she immediately recognized her dancing talent and from then on took charge of her career.

The musical will be a modern production that nevertheless aims to convey the iconic 80s feeling. Of course, well-known hits such as "Flashdance - What a feeling", "Maniac" and "Gloria" will not be missing. In any case, Gitte Haenning can hardly wait to get started:
