Killing Mike - an eight-part Danish-German thriller series
A year and a half after the death of his son Aksel, village doctor Peter (Claus Riis Østergaard) is convinced that the death was no accident. Instead, he believes that Mike (Morten Hee Andersen) deliberately ran over the drunken Aksel with his pickup truck. Mike's friend Kasper (Sylvester Byder), who was sitting next to him in the car, has been undergoing psychotherapy ever since. He is the only witness to the incident and is adamant that it was an accident and that Mike is not a murderer. But Kasper's father John (Mads Rømer) strictly forbids him to remain friends with Mike.
Peter gradually goes crazy because Mike has got away without punishment. Even Peter's brother Martin (Anders Juul) can't dissuade him from his theory. Peter is obsessed with the idea that his son was deliberately run over by Mike. When he confronts Mike in front of all the villagers at the annual summer festival, he is taken away from the festival by villager John, pub landlady Bibi (Lene Maria Christensen) and Milad (Dar Salim), who runs the local chicken farm, in order to defuse the situation. But Peter isn't the only one who hates Mike. There are some in the pub who want him dead, because Mike is a bully and is causing fear and terror on the Danish island of Funen ...
