Funkuhr media library tip for the weekend

Life is not a kindergarten, available in the ARD media library:

Freddy (Oliver Wnuk) is hardly suspected of being an old-fashioned family man: While his wife Juliana (Meike Droste) commutes to Zurich as a doctor, he is there at home in Constance for their 13-year-old daughter Zoë (Sophie Reiling) and little Niko. Freddy thinks that dropping out of medical school to work as a nursery teacher is the best decision of his life.

When Juliana is offered the position of head of pediatric oncology, she wants to move to Zurich with the whole family. For her, this would mean an end to the exhausting commute, finally more time with her family and a higher income. Freddy, however, doesn't want to leave his familiar surroundings. Even he is not entirely without ambition in his low-paid job, because Freddy has his own educational ideas - and has the prospect of finally being able to put them into practice together with his colleague Lara (Franziska Wulf) as head of the daycare center. But this is only possible if everything stays the same for the family in Constance.

When his father Fritz suddenly turns up at the door after 18 years and Zoe is caught shoplifting on purpose, his previously happy life is thrown into further disarray. Now he has to manage to see the new opportunities in the crisis.

This program is available for three months in the ARD Mediathek.
