Ilse de who? Ilse de Lange has been the talk of the town ever since her appointment as a judge on the cult TV format "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" and her unfortunate injury on "Let's Dance". Time to introduce the likeable lady:

1. Ilse deLange: Where does she come from?

The country and pop singer comes from the Netherlands and was born on May 13, 1977. Her full name is Ilse Annoeska de Lange.

2. 6 number 1 albums in the Netherlands

Ilse celebrated her breakthrough in the Netherlands in 1998 with the album "World of Hurt", which was recorded in Nashville - and promptly reached number 1 in the charts. Further successful albums followed at the top of the charts. So Ilse is a celebrated star in Holland!

3rd participation in the Eurovision Song Contest

With the cool and casual song "Calm after the Storm", Ilse and singer Waylon took part in the ESC 2014 as "The Common Linnets" - the duo was rewarded by the jury and the viewers, as they landed in a sensational second place with 238 points. Conchita Wurst won first place at the time.

4th Ilse on "Let's Dance"

Ilse actually wanted to dance her way to the top with professional dancer Evgeny Vinokurov in the 14th season of "Let's Dance" in 2021. Due to an injury, she announced her premature withdrawal. She won anyway, because since her participation Ilse has made a name for herself as a popular figure with German audiences.

5. TV experience

Ilse deLange is no newcomer to the TV stage: in 2013 and 2014, she was a coach on "The Voice of Holland" for several seasons. She should therefore be well prepared for her future judging role on "DSDS".
