Update: Filming for the 21st episode of "Lena Lorenz" completed
Filming for the new season of "Lena Lorenz" has been completed. As reported by the Traunsteiner Tagblatt, the actors of the series have been in front of the camera in Berchtesgadener Land since July 9, 2019. The first of the four new episodes with Judith Hoersch as the new lead actress aired on ORF on August 6. It will be shown on ZDF from September 5, 2019.

Actress Patricia Aulitzky thrilled around 6 million viewers in the role of the somewhat headstrong, passionate midwife who is repeatedly confronted with special fates in the Berchtesgaden Alps. In previous episodes, she has impressed viewers with her authentic manner, her natural instinct and the professionalism with which she masters her everyday work and life in the family business with her mother Eva, grandfather Leo and partner Basti.
Four more episodes with the original cast
Aulitzky will be seen as the protagonist in four more episodes to be shown on ZDF in the fall. Then, after a total of 14 episodes, she will call it a day, as she let her fans know in a post on her Facebook page.
Over the last four years, I have been able to breathe life into this modern, headstrong, strong woman in 14 wonderful films. I am very grateful for that,
explains the beautiful actress there and also thanks "Lena Lorenz" viewers for their loyalty.
A farewell and a new beginning
A farewell that also means a new beginning for both the actress and the series. "I will miss my great team and the beautiful Berchtesgadener Land very much, but for me it's simply time for new challenges," says Aulitzky.
However, the protagonist's departure does not mean the end of the TV series. As the broadcaster confirmed to kurier.at, Judith Hoersch will be seen in the leading role in the future: "With Judith Hoersch, we have been able to recruit a very convincing and likeable actress who will take over the title role as Lena Lorenz from the upcoming filming in May".
In the fall, however, "Lena Lorenz" fans of the first hour will still have the opportunity to say goodbye to leading actress Patricia Aulitzky. The exact broadcast date for the four final episodes with the original cast is yet to be announced by ZDF.
