Update: Yes-word blown away by the wind
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank have said "I do". In a gorgeous wedding dress by Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos, the princess arrived at St. George's Chapel accompanied by her father Prince Andrew. The meter-long train had to withstand an autumnal wind in Windsor. Queen Elizabeth II (92) and Prince Philip (97) also attended the wedding of their granddaughter. After the wedding kiss in front of the church for the numerous fans and onlookers, the newlyweds boarded an opulent golden carriage.
When will Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's wedding take place?
On October 12, 2018, the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson and the businessman, who has already worked with George Clooney's tequila company Casamigos, will exchange their vows at St. George's Chapel. The Queen then invites them to an afternoon reception at St. George's Hall.
The engagement
After seven years of dating, Jack got down on one knee in front of Eugenie and asked her to marry him with a beautiful engagement ring. With an oval, reddish padparadscha sapphire surrounded by diamonds, the ring looks very similar to her mother's, which Prince Andrew designed himself.
In January this year, the palace announced the engagement of the two lovebirds. While the businessman will put a ring on his sweetheart at the wedding ceremony, he himself will not be wearing a wedding ring. This is not unusual for men in the royal family. Prince William also decided against a wedding ring. His brother Harry, on the other hand, preferred a ring at his wedding to Meghan Markle.
Who are the best men?
Princess Beatrice will be the Maid of Honor for her sister. She is to read a passage from "The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald during the ceremony. The background to this is that the groom, like the protagonist of the novel, is supposed to have a calming effect on people with his charisma and his eyes.
The bridal entourage
The bridal party could hardly be more prominent. Prince George (5) and Princess Charlotte (3), who are taking on this job for the third time this year, are of course included. Of course, their cousins Savannah and Isla Phillips, Peter and Autumn's daughters, and Zara Tindall's daughter Mia (4) will also be there. Another bridesmaid is five-year-old Maud, daughter of Lord and Lady Frederick Windsor, who is in the same class as George. Robbie Williams and Ayda Field's daughter Teddy (6) will also be joining Louis De Givenchy, the six-year-old son of Zoe and Olivier De Givenchy.
The guests
A total of 800 guests (200 more than at Harry and Meghan's wedding) will be able to celebrate the royal wedding. These are said to include singers Ellie Goulding, Ed Sheeran and James Blunt. David and Victoria Beckham and George and Amal Clooney will of course also be in attendance. Other celebrities also taking part are: Model Naomi Campbell, actress Liv Tyler, model Poppy Delevingne.
Classical music for the ceremony
For the ceremony, the bride and groom opted for the classical "Ave Maria" and "Panis Angelicus" sung by none other than Andrea Bocelli and accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
The cake
As with Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan's celebration, Princess Eugenie and Jack's wedding party will not have a traditional wedding cake. Instead, the couple opted for a red velvet cake and chocolate confectionery. Pastry chef Sophie Cabot announced earlier this week that she had been given the honorable task of making the wedding cake.
The wedding dress
The bride wore a white, long-sleeved dress with a portrait neckline and a large bow at the back by Peter Piloto and Christopher de Vos. Instead of a veil, the princess opted for the Grenville Tiara, which once belonged to her great-grandmother Queen Mum.
