Mette-Marit and Haakon go public
The Norwegian prince and princess have given an interview to the TV station NRK . "It's pulmonary fibrosis," says Haakon. And: "We will need more research and find out everything eventually, but there are certainly things that cannot be answered. So we probably have to live with some uncertainty." Pulmonary fibrosis is the irreversible transformation of lung tissue into scar tissue. It occurs as a result of recurring or chronic inflammation of the lung tissue. Source: Techniker Krankenkasse.
Mette-Marit has been ill for a long time
The princess has repeatedly had to deal with lung diseases in the past. Now the diagnosis. It is still unclear whether the "unusual variant of fibrosis in the lungs" is part of a pronounced autoimmune disease or has another cause. The royal family also did not say what form of pulmonary fibrosis was involved. Princess Mette-Marit must therefore undergo further examinations. A glimmer of hope: the prognosis is favorable because the disease was detected early. Nevertheless, it cannot be cured.
