TV tip: 150th Rosamunde Pilcher film "Daughters-in-law"

Although Rosamunde Pilcher died in February 2019 at the age of 94, her novels live on. The film adaptations of the successful British author have been shown on ZDF's "Herzkino" for over 25 years. On Sunday, May 26, 2019, "Daughters-in-law" will be the 150th film adaptation by the successful British author.

That's what the movie is about

After the death of her husband, Lynette Dawson (Ulrike Folkerts) wants to honor his last wish and set up a foundation. To do this, however, she must hand over the management of the family business for natural remedies to her sons Patrick (Max Hemmersdorfer) and Robin (Patrick Mölleken). It could all be so easy if it weren't for the lovely daughters-in-law. Patrick's wife Kim (Paula Schramm) is reluctant to give up her career in London. And journalist Marisa (Maja-Céline Probst) even breaks off her engagement to Robin because of Lynette's paternalism. And then there's Raymond Murphy (Dirk Martens), who accuses Lynette of driving her family apart. Will he be right?

150 film adaptations against a picturesque backdrop

On Sunday, May 26, 2019, we will once again be whisked away to the picturesque Cornish coast. ZDF Heart Cinema will be showing "Daughters-in-law" at 8.15 pm, the 150th film adaptation of a novel by Rosamunde Pilcher. In 1993, "Rosamunde Pilcher: Stormy Encounters" was the first film based on a book by the author. Since then, over 100 stories have been filmed at the romantic location in southern England. Fun fact: Prince Charles himself has already thanked the author, the production company and the broadcaster for boosting tourism in the south of England by filming against a picturesque backdrop.
