Wedding planner Froonck in an interview with Idee für mich
IDFM:Meghan and Prince Harry are getting married on May 19: Which wedding dress would you recommend for the US actress ?
Froonck: To be able to give real advice, I have to see the person live and in lingerie to get an impression of their character, charisma and physique. Then I try on different styles, and after that it quickly becomes clear to me which model fits best.
Based on photos, I would recommend a large ball gown with a tight bustier and transparencies that perfectly showcases her exotic beauty. In other words, sheer long sleeves, high-necked at the front and a breathtaking back neckline decorated with floral 3D appliqués. It must radiate simple, stunning elegance, have a touch of extravagance and very subtle sexiness. The glamorous silhouette reflects royal pomp and is also a deliberate counterpoint to the boho style that is currently still in vogue, with slim cuts, flowing shapes and softly draping fabrics. And a cathedral veil is definitely a must for a princess.
IDFM: What are you speculating on - will Meghan cause a stir with an extravagant dress or will she go traditional to please the Queen?
Froonck: She has to find the right balance. Provocation is out of place here, and of course the head of the royal family must be respected. However, this must not suppress an individual, contemporary look that is true to type. I think she will be very well advised and will enchant us with a dream gown that makes a personal fashion statement without offending the Queen. I'm already very excited.
IDMF: From Princess Charlène to Duchess Kate and Crown Princess Victoria: Which royal wedding dresses fulfill your personal requirements the most?
Froonck:In general, of course, you can see that the royals are subject to etiquette and court protocol, which means that there is no gown that is too provocative, revealing, sexy or even provocative. That is simply not appropriate for a princess. Showing skin would be far too intimate and private. After all, it is first and foremost a managerial function that is being exercised here and a public position with a role model character. We don't want to see that either, as we imagine (fairytale) princesses to be beautiful, elegant and innocent. They stand above the everyday and the common people and make us dream of a carefree life.
I have to travel back in time, because I was most inspired by the dream dresses of Princess Di (1981) and Princess Grazia Patrizia of Monaco (Gracy Kelly, 1956). The first was very unusual, eye-catching, sweeping, glamorous and magnificent and set a train record of 7.62 meters. An absolute eye-catcher and worthy of the wife of the heir to the English throne.
The second dress enchanted with the typical combination of a strict, high-necked, innocent cloister look and subtle eroticism through a figure-hugging cut and transparencies. The aristocratic wedding dresses of recent years are too simple, sometimes boring and uninteresting for me, but that is also the taste of the time - the 50s and 80s were far more stylish and exciting.

IDFM: Nowadays, a lot of things happen later. When women marry after 40 or for the second time: What personal tips would you give for the wedding dress and styling?
Froonck: As is usually the case, age plays less of a role here than type, body shape, fitness and mind-set. It's very individual and needs to be considered and advised as such. In general, I also like things to be sexy and figure-hugging. After all, today's 40 is like yesterday's 30. Basically, you might have to hide little pads and folds, so not too short and not too cropped.
The look must not be too girlish and innocent, i.e. too romantic and playful, because no one will buy that from the mature bride. The style (fabric, cut, accessories) must match the bride's stage in life. Otherwise it looks anachronistic and irritating. The wow effect is therefore missing.
IDMF: More and more women are following the tattoo trend, with everything from upper arm engravings to full-body tattoos. What challenges does this pose when choosing a wedding dress?
Froonck:With a single piece, it depends on the motif and the location. You should cover it up if it interferes with the cut of the dress or if the design doesn't match the style of the dress, the wedding theme or the bridal styling. A martial tribal or a childish comic figure are simply contrary to romance and elegance. Anything that is not harmonious is disliked. In very few cases does a tattoo look good. Otherwise, you have to choose sleeves and do without sexy necklines or cut-outs.
You can't hide a complete work of art, and you shouldn't try to - nor would these tattoo fans. They usually have their own special style that suits them anyway. Important: everything you wear should be done with joy and self-confidence, only then does it come naturally and the charisma is at its best.
IDFM: Thank you very much for the interview!
