Giving gives: Doing good makes you happy

When was the last time you did someone else a favor? Just like that? Our happiness expert Dr. Sandra Boltz advises us to consciously turn our attention from ourselves to others. Because when we give, we get something in return.

Giving makes you happy. Brain research is now able to prove this: When we care about the well-being of others, hormones such as opioids and oxytocin are released in the brain. These are fuel for our well-being. It is beneficial for ourselves if we are attentive to our fellow human beings.

Giving good and attracting good

Why not attract good things today by giving good things! Give a smile, say something kind, do someone a favor, let someone go first at the checkout, give a compliment or give away your parking ticket that hasn't expired yet. There are many ways to give or help others. It is often enough to simply raise your eyes a little and look around for people in our surroundings who need our help. Be mindful of others.

Give the gift of a smile

And no matter how we feel, we always have something to give. Even if we feel sad, we can make others happy. This also lifts us up inside, gives us strength, power and confidence. We do ourselves a service when we do something for others. We attract what we send out. Giving gives. Just give it a try. Maybe give away a smile right now? It costs nothing and gives so much. You'll be amazed at how good it feels.
