Part of what you do every day
includes reading what is reported.
This has been the case for a long time
on an increasing number of newspaper pages.
Printed and pre-sorted,
what is happening here on earth.
Sport and all the latest news,
you can get that right away and quickly;
but what is really relevant,
also interesting from a literary point of view,
what you recognize as worth reading,
even called "worth keeping",
is carefully stored separately,
like saving money in stockings.
You want to enjoy the texts quietly,
when free days sprout abundantly.
One collects many a line,
that in the rush of everyday life
would not be duly appreciated, -
Too little time, that's the obstacle.
But at some point you realize:
the desire for time - it does not come true.
Wisdom lies dormant in the box
and no one benefits from it.
So the best remains unread, -
quite succinctly: that's it.
