Many German employees eagerly await the weekend Friday after Friday. It's that time again today. But the free time on Saturday and Sunday needs to be put to good use, after all, we can do exactly what we feel like doing. Or do we? Do you find your weekend relaxing and start the new week well rested on Monday or are you at least as exhausted after the 48 hours of free time as you are after a 40-hour working week? Then you may be doing something wrong! Our three tips will help you slow down at the weekend.
Tip 1: Listen to your inner self
Are you more of a couch potato who can't get away from your beloved sofa at the weekend? Then accept that and listen to your feelings. Do you feel like a 48-hour couch marathon where you don't do much other than eat delicious food and devour a new tome? Then do exactly that this weekend!
Tip 2: Clear out your to-do list
Weekly shopping
Outing with the kids
Hairdresser's appointment
Clear out the chaos in your home or closet
Gym
Visit to the parents
Movie theater
Car wash
museum
Meeting friends
Concert
Reading a good book
48 hours of free time can really turn into stress if you pack them too full. Of course we want to get everything done at the weekend that we can't manage during the week, but that's no way to relax. Does the house cleaning really have to be this weekend? That movie you've been dying to see will probably be on for longer. And that good book can wait a few more days. Don't pack your weekend schedule too full!
Tip 3: Plan your weekend
Most women are real pros when it comes to planning. Whether it's a trip, city break, excursion or shopping spree - everything is meticulously planned. But when it comes to well-being, the planning usually stops. Why? Why not set yourself the following goal for this weekend: "I'm going to do something for myself this weekend." And make sure you do this by making as few fixed appointments as possible at the weekend. Make a conscious effort to set aside time for relaxation. Let your loved ones know about your plans - perhaps the grandparents can look after the children for a change. You can then organize this free time exactly how it suits you. Create a relaxation plan for this during the week. How do you want to proceed? What do you want to do during your "relaxation time"? With a fixed plan, relaxation is guaranteed to work.
