In accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO), the vaccines are reformulated each flu season. For some years now, four different flu virus strains have been in circulation: two A and two B strains. Quadruple
vaccines are directed against all four strains.
Until now, they were mainly used for private patients or had to be paid for themselves. Patients with health insurance, on the other hand, received the conventional flu vaccines with only three components. Following a change in the law, people with statutory health insurance can now also receive the quadruple flu vaccine for broader protection this flu season. The quadruple vaccine can be requested from your GP.
