The corona vaccination is coming up
It's not easy to get a timely vaccination appointment - but what do you actually do when it's finally due and you have a cold or are coming down with a cold? Do you then have to cancel the appointment?
According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the following applies to a Covid-19 vaccination:
Anyone suffering from an acute illness with a fever (38.5°C or higher) should not be vaccinated until they have recovered. However, a cold or slightly elevated temperature (below 38.5°C) is no reason to postpone vaccination. [...]
Postpone corona vaccination
You don't need to postpone your vaccination if you have a mild cold. Please don't be too hasty, because it's not just about protecting your own health, otherwise your planned vacations with your partner or family could be put on hold. Of course, you should be as fit as possible because a vaccination always puts a strain on the immune system.
However, if you have a fever and the symptoms indicate a flu-like infection, the coronavirus vaccination should be postponed. This is because the effectiveness of the vaccine may be impaired because the body is already busy producing antibodies. However, before you cancel your appointment too hastily, you should consult your GP beforehand.

Flu symptoms after the vaccination
Flu-like symptoms are normal after vaccination against Covid-19 and can last for a few days. So there is no need to worry. Take it easy, avoid physical exertion and alcohol. In other words, anything that further weakens the immune system. Treat yourself to a walk in the fresh air and some rest if necessary.
