
"Oh, I don't want to go home yet," thinks Lilli M. and continues jogging. She feels full of energy. Until a few weeks ago, the opposite was the case. The 35-year-old was usually tired and had hardly any energy left for sport or other activities after work. But then a friend told her that acidosis could be the cause. She soon took something to combat it. And she has felt better ever since. She has energy again, does sport after work or meets up with friends. Many Germans suffer from the fact that their body is over-acidified, but are unaware of it. They blame the associated complaints on the stresses and strains of everyday life or the dull, wet and cold weather. In addition to a lack of energy, these include nervousness, concentration problems and pale skin. Back and joint pain can also increase.
Alkaline minerals have a neutralizing effect on hyperacidity
Three factors in particular promote hyperacidity in the body: stress, a protein-rich diet and lack of exercise. As a result, excess acids accumulate and the metabolism no longer works smoothly. And that causes the symptoms. But what can be done to balance the acid-base balance? Alkaline minerals such as magnesium and calcium neutralize the acids and thus bring the body back into balance. We can absorb them mainly through vegetables, fruit and salad. Spinach, raisins and dried figs are particularly good sources of alkaline minerals. Protein-rich foods such as pulses, dairy products and meat, on the other hand, should only be consumed in moderation, as they promote hyperacidity in the body.
This little trick will help: make sure that half of your plate consists of alkaline foods . As exercise activates the metabolism and breaks down acids, we should not do without it. For example, walk to the bakery and get off the bus one or two stops earlier on the way to work. Walk the rest.
Even if the will is there, unfortunately we don't always manage to implement our good intentions. This is when it makes sense to take alkaline minerals to counteract acidification of the body. The best way to do this is to take a cure, i.e. two to three months in a row.
According to a recent Emnid survey, one in three Germans has already taken alkaline supplements. Most of them because they were tired and exhausted. 45 percent of those surveyed felt more productive again afterwards.
