Prevention

Have your eyes checked for glaucoma every two years from the age of 40 at the latest. Unfortunately, early detection is not covered by health insurance and costs between 20 and 40 euros.

Sunglasses

UV rays also damage the eyes, which is why ophthalmologists recommend that you always wear sunglasses. Conjunctivitis or corneal inflammation can be the result of sun exposure, as can cataracts. Particularly harmful: reading in sunlight, because the paper reflects the
the rays once again.

Take a break from the PC

Intensive screen work can lead to secondary eye damage such as short-sightedness and dry eyes. It is therefore important to take regular breaks - this is stipulated by law. Ten minutes per hour is recommended.
