Sudden cardiac arrest: quick help can save lives

It's a frightening situation: suddenly your partner is lying motionless next to you, shows no reaction and stops breathing. Now every second counts. A film from the campaign "Saving a life. 100 Pro Reanimation" campaign shows how important it is to provide rapid assistance in the event of a cardiac arrest.

Around 75,000 people suffer cardiac arrest every year

There are still many people who do not know how to resuscitate or do not feel confident doing so. Sudden cardiac death is the third most common cause of death in Germany. Of the approximately 75,000 people affected each year, only ten percent survive.

Every minute counts

Sudden cardiac death is a race against time: the brain can suffer irreparable damage after just three to five minutes of cardiovascular arrest.

Double or triple the chance of survival

Yet it is much easier to increase the chances of survival than we think. This is shown by the project "Saving a life. 100 Pro Resuscitation" with its campaign film. The three steps "Check, call, press" are intended to encourage people to act quickly in an emergency and save lives.
