Icy feet - is there anything more unpleasant?

"Honey, can I just warm my feet on you for a moment?" This sentence is probably starting to stick in men's ears, as this scenario plays out in many households every evening. Eight out of ten women suffer from constantly cold feet. The causes are usually harmless and completely normal, but it is still annoying.

When temperatures drop, the body first tries to warm important organs such as the brain, heart etc., so that the feet and hands are deprived of heat.

What helps against cold feet?

And what can help against icy feet that spoil the fall and winter? We have six good tips against cold feet:

1. warm foot baths

A warm foot bath can work wonders. To relax, simply add a little lavender oil, rose oil or an additive of your choice to the warm water. Then dry your feet well and put on thick socks.

2. foot massage

Rub a little oil or a rich cream over your feet. This stimulates the circulation and makes the feet supple at the same time. Alternatively, you can also use a massage roller or a hedgehog ball to massage your feet.

3. regular exercise

Regular exercise ensures good circulation in the long term. You don't have to do competitive sport to do this. Even a brisk walk is enough.

4. alternating showers

Alternate between running hot water over your legs and feet for 30 seconds and then cold water again. Repeat three times. This stimulates the circulation and promotes blood flow.

5. move your toes

Wiggle your toes or roll your feet up and down from the balls of your feet to your heels.

6. stay dry

Avoid damp feet. When the moisture cools down, the heat is dissipated to the outside. Result: cold feet due to constricted blood vessels. Caution: Our feet sweat faster in tight shoes. This means that they also get cold more quickly.
