Baking soda for heartburn

Baking soda helps with heartburn because it neutralizes stomach acid and therefore relieves the burning pain behind the breastbone. However, it should only be taken as a purely emergency measure, as in the long term it will acidify the stomach even more. Dissolve a teaspoon of baking soda (drugstore) in a glass of cold water and drink.

Help with cystitis

Baking soda has an antibacterial effect. If you have a urinary tract infection, drink water with baking soda, which reduces the acidity of the urine and helps to get rid of the germs. Drink a glass with 1 teaspoon three times a day.

Get rid of colds with this household remedy

Baking soda also has a healing effect against colds. The sodium salt is also a good remedy when colds and the like are on the rise again: Gargling with bicarbonate of soda relieves a sore throat. Drink three glasses with one teaspoon each throughout the day. This drives away the pathogens that cause it.

A nice, warm foot bath with the miracle powder promotes blood circulation, pain and tiredness disappear. Great side effect: athlete's foot doesn't stand a chance.

Relief for insect bites

Mix water and bicarbonate of soda powder to form a semi-solid paste. Then apply to the sting, leave to dry and wash off.
