Anna-Lisa tests the juice cure from "Kale and Me"
Day 2, my personal horror day. After my huge motivation and anticipation had got me through the first day of the detox experiment quite easily, day 2 was really hard for me. I woke up feeling hungry.
While Pamela Pine still gave me a fruity and sour taste on the first day, on the second day my stomach was no longer happy with the acidity. I drank tea to counteract this, saving myself for the second and third juices.
I found it increasingly difficult to persevere. I still didn't have a headache, but I slowly began to feel like eating solid food. But my will to persevere was stronger. Until the evening.
After work, I tidied up my apartment a little and then unfortunately reached my personal low point of the detox cure relatively quickly. I was shaking, felt weak and felt like I was going to faint. I knew I HAD to eat something now. And yet I was determined to stick it out. In the end, however, I had to listen to my body and ate a slice of crispbread and a tomato. Had I failed now? No, I don't think so. I know my body and I know when to listen to it.
I was then able to enjoy Amy Almond, juice number 6, again and the last day was within reach!

I looked longingly at the coffee machine when I left my apartment on day 2. Fortunately, there were no side effects such as headaches from the coffee withdrawal, but I did experience acute fatigue and tiredness.
That would certainly change after my first juice, I thought. Unfortunately, I couldn't shake off the feeling of lack of concentration on the second day. Instead, I kept checking my watch in the hope that I could fill my empty stomach with the next juice as soon as possible.
On a positive note, however, I found that for once my gastrointestinal tract wasn't constantly rumbling like I'm used to. Whether it was spinach-pineapple-apple-lemon or pear-pineapple-lime-cucumber - I tolerated all the juices surprisingly well. However, my highlight of the day was the clear vegetable broth, which was allowed according to the detox plan. Because between all the sweet and sour juices, my taste buds were craving something salty and my body was craving something warming.
Cheat or even give up? Not a chance! After all, the home straight was almost in sight.
