Sabrina tests the juice diet from "pressbar"
It's fascinating how quickly my body adapted to the liquid diet. Especially on day 3, I would have expected extreme cravings and a heavily armed bastard. But surprisingly, neither of these things happened and I am quite proud of my actual stamina. The only thing I craved in terms of taste was something other than juice. No matter what.
What remained was the now irrepressible anticipation of a sip of vegetable broth for lunch. How frugal you become over time - perhaps this is also a "detoxifying side effect"?
What also remained, however, were listlessness and lack of concentration, which already had me firmly in their grip on day 2. After all, carbohydrates are a source of energy and I was lacking this energy.
As I sipped the spinach, pineapple, apple and lemon from my "pressbar" juice diet at around 5 p.m., my understretched chewing muscles and I thought we were already on the home straight. My body, however, seemed to see things differently...
As quiet as my stomach had been for the past two days, it suddenly rumbled, bubbled and whistled loudly and I spent the evening in the safety of my bathroom. My gastrointestinal tract punished thoughts of my two final juices, "green" and "yellow", with loud, demonstrative grumbling. The only thing that helped was a crispbread ...
Anna-Lisa tests the juice cure from "Kale and Me"
The last day! I was starting to feel a real high- after all, I was almost there. I know these thoughts from sport, because that's where I have the most fun as soon as I'm on the home straight.
Unfortunately, day 3 took longer than expected. Because now I actually had a really bad headache for the first time. I don't know whether this was due to caffeine withdrawal, but I found it increasingly difficult to work in this state.
I was also drinking the juices from my detox cure with much less pleasure - sure, they still tasted good on day 3, but I was getting bored of the monotony. I wasn't going to eat the same meals for three days.
In the evening, one last big challenge awaited me: movie night with a friend. Cinema and popcorn are practically inseparable for me and the sweet smell alone makes me feel happy. Would I make it through the movie without the wonderful, typical "cinema" taste in my mouth? Yes, I managed it! I didn't allow myself a single popcorn, I was and am pretty proud of myself! I had my last drink at home - Amy Almond and I had become friends.
But now it was time to say goodbye, because Amy was the last of the 18 juices I had consumed in the last three days. I won't deny at this point that I'm really looking forward to being able to eat "normally" again very soon.
