Good as an all-rounder
However, the blue-flowered medicinal herb can do much more than just smell good: various studies have shown that its ingredients have a calming and relaxing effect. If you have trouble falling asleep and brood a lot, you should put a lavender sachet next to your pillow. Capsules with lavender oil to take or lavender blossom tea also help to reduce stress and fall asleep.
Lavender bath has a relaxing effect
A lavender bath also helps against tiredness, nervousness and sore muscles. Many lavender bath additives are available in drugstores or pharmacies in the form of oil, milk, effervescent tablets or bubble bath. You can easily make such an additive yourself: boil a cup of lavender flowers (health food store) in a liter of cold water, strain the liquid through a sieve and pour it into the warm bath water.
Good for the skin: lavender oil
A lavender tincture helps with blackheads and spots: add a few drops to lukewarm water, soak a cotton pad in it and then cleanse your face. The tincture can be bought ready-made - but you can also make it yourself. Put a handful of dried lavender flowers in a sealable jar and pour 500 ml of vodka, double shot or alcohol from the pharmacy over them until the flowers are covered. Shake the jar several times a day. After five weeks, pour the liquid through a cloth to remove the flowers. Pour the tincture into a jar with a pipette - this makes it easier to dose. The tincture can be kept in the fridge for about a year.
