Proven: Dogs protect against asthma

The fact that every second German household has a dog not only lifts the spirits of its human residents. The four-legged friends also protect children who grow up with them from asthma.

This is particularly true if the little ones had contact with Bello in the first year of life. This has now been shown by an analysis of data from one million children born in Sweden between 2001 and 2010.

Too much hygiene promotes allergies

The risk of asthma was even lower in children who grew up on a farm. It was already known that this environment reduces the risk of allergies and asthma in children. Too much hygiene, on the other hand, seems to promote allergies.
