1. simply sleep better
A US study found that in order to fall asleep at all, your body temperature has to be half a degree lower than when you are awake. And during sleep, you often wake up in pyjamas because it's too warm - so sleep is not really restful. It's better to sleep naked!
2. good for love
According to a British study, couples who sleep naked in bed together are happier in their relationships. Because you have more skin contact with your partner when sleeping naked, the body automatically releases the happiness hormone oxytocin.
3. you stay young
This is the conclusion of an American study. If you are not too hot under the covers and there is therefore no heat build-up, the production of the hormone melatonin is stimulated. In addition, more growth and anti-ageing hormones are released.
4. good for sex
Naked skin makes you sexy. Many studies have shown that sleeping without clothes on makes you feel unconsciously more erotic and seductive. And you get in the mood much faster than if you have to fumble around with fabric for a long time.
5. you lose weight
Sleeping naked burns fat: If you are disturbed by the warmth of your pyjamas while you sleep, you release the stress hormone cortisol. In addition, cool temperatures under the covers activate the brown fat cells - which means that we burn more calories when undressed.
6. good for hygiene
Dutch gynecologist Alyssa Dweck advises women to sleep better without underwear! Tight-fitting panties do not ventilate the vagina as well. The bacteria living there love the warm and humid climate this creates.
