Why women should do without a bra

Many women find a bra a burden because it often doesn't fit properly and is therefore uncomfortable. In the home office, women are therefore doing away with bras altogether - and that's smart, because there are 3 health reasons to do without a bra.

An ill-fitting bra can leave unsightly and painful marks.

Women with large breasts usually wear a bra because it supports the breasts better - and women don't want to go without their bra when doing sport, and bras are also advisable when breastfeeding. But these 3 reasons speak against a bra!

3 reasons not to wear a bra

  1. Firmer breasts thanks to more muscle - yes, you read that right! In a long-term study, French physician Jean-Denis Rouillon found that wearing a bra makes breast tissue firmer. If you don't wear a bra, on the other hand, the muscles can be strengthened. The study had one small catch: only women with small breasts took part. Pregnant women, women who are overweight or older women are recommended to wear a bra.
  2. Good circulation because nothing is constricted - most women are familiar with this: The bra pinches and leaves marks on the skin. This is not only uncomfortable, but also bad for blood circulation. Lymphoedema can develop. That's why it's important to wear a bra if you can't or don't want to do without it. These bras are particularly popular with women over 40.
  3. Good posture because you are straightening yourself - observe this in yourself: As soon as you take your bra off, you automatically adopt a straight posture. And this is not only great for your breasts, but for your whole body. Depending on your bust size, this can of course be perceived differently, in which case a bra is recommended again.
