Coffee is considered healthy

Four to five cups of coffee a day, or 400 mg of caffeine, is completely harmless to health. Some experts even consider ten cups of cappuccino a day to be completely okay.

The effect of caffeine on our health

Science has discovered in countless studies that caffeine is actually really healthy: regular consumption reduces the risk of stroke, according to the German Society of Neurology. The pick-me-up also alleviates migraine attacks, helps the liver and stimulates kidney activity. It has also been proven to protect against diabetes and Alzheimer's disease.

Caution with high blood pressure

However, the substance is not completely harmless: anyone suffering from very high blood pressure should avoid caffeine, as it raises blood pressure. And if you have high cholesterol levels, filter coffee is better, as unfavorable substances remain in the filter.

Don't consume too much caffeine

However, caffeine in large quantities can actually be harmful to health. The dose in energy drinks in particular is a cause for concern. Pouring these drinks down your throat like water can permanently damage your heart.
