You can drain the body with the right foods.

Water retention in the body can occur for various reasons, such as eating food that contains too much salt. However, you should not only pay attention to the amount of salt you eat, but also avoid processed foods wherever possible. These often not only contain a lot of sugar, but also a lot of salt. Excessive and/or constant alcohol consumption also binds water in the body - after a night of partying, the body often needs several days to function normally again.

3 foods that dehydrate the body

With the right diet, you can dehydrate the body relatively easily and quickly so that no medication is required. However, if you are dealing with pathological water retention, please consult your doctor to find out whether and which foods can best support you.

1. liquids

Drinking for dehydration? Exactly, many people make the mistake of reducing their drinking when they have water retention. And that is exactly the wrong method! Drinking enough ensures regular visits to the toilet and flushes waste products out of the body. At least 1.5 liters of water or other low-calorie drinks such as tea are recommended.

2. rice

In contrast to white rice, wholegrain rice contains more potassium. This mineral regulates the body's water balance and ensures that excess water is removed from the tissues. So eat rice more often!

3. cucumbers

This literally slim vegetable not only consists of 95 percent water and therefore has hardly any calories, cucumbers also have a diuretic effect. Extra bonus: The enzyme Erepsin ensures that the body can process proteins better. You should therefore often serve a tasty cucumber salad with fish or schnitzel.
