We have some great tips to ensure that your beautiful vacation pictures are not forgotten or even lost in folders on your tablet or cell phone.

Simply print them out

A well-known and tried-and-tested method is to print out your best digital photos and stick them in an album. If you're in a hurry and don't need the photos in high quality, you can now print them out yourself at almost any drugstore. Alternatively, you can upload your photos to a photo service, which will print them out particularly sharp and detailed and send them back to you. To you directly or to a selected store. There are also more and more providers on the Internet who will create a photo book from your digital treasures. This is a great memento to put on your bookshelf - or to give as a gift.

Archive at home

The safest way to store your photos is to save them on an extra medium in addition to your home computer. This can be a CD, DVD or Blu-ray, for example. The difference: based on a 13 megapixel image (around three to five megabytes), a CD can hold around 150 images, a DVD around 1,000 and a Blu-Ray as many as 5,000 photos. However, none of these solutions are designed to last forever. On average, the data can only be used for around ten years without any problems before there are signs of wear and tear and losses. External hard disks provide a huge volume of data, but not forever. A good 200,000 images can be stored there.

Off to the cloud

Photos are truly indestructible if you upload them to the cloud, i.e. a storage space on the internet. There are various options here: You can either upload them manually from your smartphone or PC using an app or have them updated automatically. This is particularly secure because your data is distributed across several data centers and is constantly backed up. We recommend "Google Photos", for example. The service is free and offers unlimited storage space for your memories.
