Fruit flies

Always cover fruit or put it in the fridge. Dispose of leftovers right outside in the garbage. If there is a large infestation, build a water trap: mix water and vinegar in a shallow dish and add a dash of washing-up liquid. The flies will not be able to stay on the surface and will drown.

Wasps

Impossible to eat and drink in peace? Place a plate of sliced grapes a little away from the table. Wasps love the fruit and will turn to it. Fly gauze on the windows will keep them out of your home.

Mosquitoes

The larvae develop in water, so cover rain barrels and avoid water collecting in gutters and watering cans. A vase of tomato leaves keeps mosquitoes away, and they also don't like the smell of catnip and lavender. Fine-mesh window fly screens together with mosquito nets over the bed are the best protection.

Food moths

They like to nest in cereal bags and baking ingredients and lay eggs there. Throw away affected products. Wipe out kitchen cupboards with vinegar water after infestation. If you can't reach some corners, you can blow-dry them hot: this also kills the eggs.

Ants

The crawlers don't like juniper, cinnamon powder and lemon peel at all. Placed at the entry points into the house, the smell drives the animals away. Chalk can be used to interrupt and divert roads. Cracks in doors and windows can be sealed with silicone or acrylic.
