The first step in basic cleaning is dusting. It is best to only ever use soft feather dusters or cloths, as microfiber cloths unfortunately often leave very thin scratches on the surface.
Wipe with a damp cloth
Clean sealed surfaces with a damp cloth and wipe dry with a cotton cloth. If the dirt is very stubborn, use a splash of neutral detergent.
Removing water stains
If the water has already penetrated deep into the wood fibers, a few drops of sunflower oil mixed with a little salt will help. Rub the paste carefully into the stain, then wipe the area thoroughly clean.
Removing scratches
Light scratches can be removed from unvarnished furniture with sandpaper. Always work in the grain structure of the wood and finish with polish. Coordinate products Glazed or natural furniture requires specially coordinated oil or wax care products. Ensure good quality: Cheap products often contain silicone oils that "gum up" the furniture.
