How often should you wash your towels?

Dr. Ross Perry, founder and medical director of several skin clinics in the UK, believes that washing your towels once or twice a week is enough. The expert explains that it is generally recommended to wash bath towels after every third to fifth use, especially if they are also used for the hands. That's about twice a week. He also recommends washing towels at high temperatures and always allowing them to dry thoroughly afterwards. It is best to wash your towels at a temperature of at least 60 degrees to ensure that a large proportion of the bacteria are killed.

With regard to washing towels in times of corona, the expert says that there are different opinions, but no fixed rules on how often it is best to wash towels. Nevertheless, it is important to be sensible when it comes to washing clothes, bed linen and towels.
