Whether it's a jacket, skirt or trousers - here's what you need to know to wash jeans properly:
Wash rarely
If we put jeans in the machine too often, they shrink or fade quickly. It's better to air them out more often or even put them in the freezer: This kills germs.
Spin dry less
Although the jeans dry faster afterwards, spinning destroys the synthetic fibers of the fabric and they quickly lose their fit. Models with stretch are particularly sensitive.

Fabric softener
It is also better to do without it, as it sticks the fibers together. It is sufficient to use a mild or color detergent, heavy-duty detergent bleaches.
Inside out
Don't just put the trousers in the washing machine, but turn them inside out first. This is because if the outer sides rub against the drum, the color is more likely to come off and the material will be damaged.
Lukewarm instead of hot
Wash in the machine at a maximum of 30 degrees. Only wash three pairs of jeans at a time to avoid creases or streaks. The jeans should also all be the same color. Wash decorated denim by hand.
No tumble dryer
Synthetic fibers cannot withstand the high temperatures in the dryer and our favorite jeans unfortunately lose their shape. It is better to air dry them, avoiding direct sunlight - even in the cold season.
Store correctly
Do not fold or stack jeans, as creases can quickly lead to discoloration and streaks. Better: hang them on trouser hangers.
Extra tip: Get them into shape
Place worn jeans (no stretch!) in hot salt water for 30 minutes: The fibers will contract again.
