Shopping: Running errands in the supermarket is always permitted in any case. Going to the pharmacy, post office, doctors and going for a long walk are also not prohibited for people on sick leave.
Visits to restaurants or pubs: When it comes to eating out, it always depends on the type of illness: If you have the stomach flu, for example, you shouldn't necessarily spend your nights in the pub. But if you have a broken leg, you can of course eat in a restaurant.
Vacation trips: If a booked trip falls within the period of sick leave, this does not necessarily mean that you cannot go on it. For example, you can travel with an arm in plaster or a stomach ulcer if it does not affect the healing process. But: The employer must agree.
Sport: Here too, it depends on the type of illness: Going swimming or working out at the gym with back pain is allowed. However, you should not go jogging or swimming if you have a severe cold.
