Motif selection
The motto here is: Less is more - it is often the pictures that showcase just one person, object or animal that are particularly impressive. Before taking the photo, try out the angle from which the subject is particularly effective. When taking selfies, make sure you always photograph yourself from above, avoid backlighting and choose a calm background - otherwise you might accidentally end up with a branch or lamp post growing out of your head.
Focus
Normally, the focal point of an image is in the center of the shot. With a tap on the display, you can move it as you wish: the subject appears more exciting. To "compose" the scene beautifully, divide the picture into thirds horizontally and vertically. Important things in the picture should either be on or at the intersections of the lines. By the way: Many smartphones automatically show the rule of thirds on the display.
Resolution
The number of pixels indicates the number of pixels that are captured per photo. Less naturally saves storage space, but also means that fewer details are visible in the images. Therefore, use the highest resolution for special motifs.
Flash light
The flash in a smartphone is too weak to illuminate subjects effectively. Instead, it often ensures that the foreground is captured too brightly. Therefore, only use it if pictures would otherwise be unsuccessful. Extra tip: You can regulate the ambient light of your subject individually via the menu - this makes the colors look much more natural.
