If you often paint your nails on doors, tiles or in the bathroom, you're bound to discover one or two traces of nail polish in your own home. Here's how to get rid of them.
Removing nail polish with a dirt eraser
Use an eraser to get rid of nail polish marks on doors, in the bathroom or on tiles. Simply moisten the eraser slightly and rub it gently over the affected areas.
Furniture polish against nail polish streaks
Never use conventional nail polish remover on wooden furniture or doors. This can damage the varnish on the furniture or its surface, for example. Instead, use furniture polish to remove the stains. If the nail polish stain is still damp, first dab it with a cloth, never rub it, as this can cause the polish to penetrate even deeper into the wood. Now the polish comes into play. Apply it to a soft cloth and use it to clean the affected area.
Removing nail polish from the carpet
Oops, spilled a drop of nail polish on the carpet while painting and now you don't know what to do? Don't panic, first dab the stain very carefully with a cloth, don't rub, otherwise the polish will only get deeper into the fibers. Then it's best to use nail polish remover with acetone. First test a small area to see if the remover does not attack the carpet material. If this is not the case, you can remove the remaining varnish with the nail varnish remover. To do this, put some nail polish remover on a cotton bud and carefully dab the stain with it.
