How do the sweat marks develop in the first place?

Many deodorants contain aluminum salts. If these mix with sebum, sweat and detergents, the unsightly yellow stains, which are particularly visible on light-colored textiles, can appear. However, you don't have to throw your clothes away, as these tips and home remedies will help you to combat sweat stains.

Tips for removing sweat stains

Sometimes it is enough to moisten fresh sweat stains slightly and then treat them with gall soap. Then put the top in the washing machine. However, this often does not help with older sweat stains. You can use simple household remedies such as baking soda or vinegar.

Baking soda against yellow sweat stains: For white cotton laundry, simply apply the baking soda directly to the affected area and rub in a little. Then leave it on overnight and rinse the baking soda out briefly under running water. Now wash the shirt in the machine as usual. Note: It is better not to use baking soda on delicate fabrics.

Vinegar essence or colorless vinegar: Mix the vinegar essence with water in a ratio of 1:4 (one part vinegar essence and four parts water). Soak the affected item of clothing in this for a few hours. Then you can put the clothes in the washing machine. A practical side effect of vinegar is that it not only removes stains, but is also effective against the smell of sweat caused by bacteria. Vinegar also helps against light-colored sweat stains on dark textiles.
