
Removing grease from clothing
Sprinkle fresh stains with a little potato flour to absorb the grease. Leave on for around 15 minutes, then brush off and wash as usual.
Fruit stains
Soak clothes in soapy water or treat with lemon juice. Rinse well and then put in the machine.
Home remedy for coffee stains
Treat fresh stains with sparkling water and washing-up liquid. Alternatively, you can soak the textiles in cold salt water until the stains have dissolved. Then wash as normal.
Getting chocolate out
Carefully scrape off any dry residue, then soak clothes in warm soapy water for 30 minutes. Washing.
Removing vegetable stains
Treat carrot stains with gall soap. Wash out tomato splashes in soapy water. Rub spinach stains with raw potato or soak in buttermilk.
Remove red wine stains
Tipped over a glass? Soak up the stain with kitchen paper, sprinkle the rest with warm, carbonated water or glass cleaner.
Grass stains from clothing
If the egg hunt in the garden has left its mark: rub the stain with gall soap, ammonia also works well on robust materials. Then put it in the machine.
