Choose the right model and accessories for your home
Upright vacuum cleaners have a lightweight aluminum suction tube and are easier to operate than upright vacuum cleaners where you have to push the entire weight. If you have a lot of carpeting, you should buy a vacuum cleaner with carpet cleaner class A, for laminate flooring one with hard floor cleaner class A.
Replace the vacuum cleaner bag regularly
And before it's completely full: performance starts to drop significantly when the bag is 75 percent full. Alternatively, there are models with plastic containers. Empty these frequently, otherwise it quickly becomes unhygienic.
Save electricity and work efficiently with less wattage
Contrary to what is often assumed, the wattage indicated on the vacuum cleaner says nothing about the suction power, but only refers to the power consumption. Modern quality appliances get by with 1,200 to 1,600 watts.
Let the robot do the work
Practical: They drive and vacuum fully automatically through the home and use sensors to find their way around the room. The price ranges from 150 to 800 euros, depending on the model.
Prevent allergies and change filters once a year
Filters get dusty after a while and should therefore be replaced once a year. A little tip to save costs: You can also buy washable filters. If you are sensitive to house dust, you should choose a device with a HEPA filter.
Clean the nozzle and pipe properly for better results
Unfortunately, with regular use, dirt and grime quickly builds up in the nozzle and pipe. Remove fluff from the nozzle and rinse it with water. You can clean the suction pipe with a feather duster or alternatively soak it in the bathtub.
